Stainless Steel Flat Bars Types, Features, and Supporting Services
We provide two basic options for stainless steel flat bars:
- True flat bar
- Sheared and edged
True flat bars are provided with two surface finishes – cold drawn and Hot Rolled Annealed and Pickled (HRAP). These bars are designed with tight thickness tolerances and sharp corners. The HRAP finish allows us to provide the bars with metal gauges of and above .1875″. Sheared and edged bars are cut directly from a steel plate, and then straightened and cleaned. This bar type is a cost-effective solution for applications where there is little need for tight tolerances or sharp bar corners.
At Alliant Metals, we generally provide stainless steel flat bars of lengths ranging between 12 o 14 feet. Our most popular grades for this bar type are:
- 303
- 17-4
- 316/316L
